2018 Research Lower Plenty Seniors Coaching Team

We are very excited to announce our coaching staff for the upcoming season. The appointments reflect a commitment to growing our players and our coaches to create the best experiences for our members.

We have created a structure of head coaches and assistant coaches for all of our teams and a support mechanism in the form of a Director of Coaching. AJ Baillargeon will cover this role, aiming to support the development of our coaching staff and create alignment across how we drive player development and approach games in The Research Way. We also have a number of coaches leading training on Wednesdays and Thursdays, aiming to help our players develop and connect as a group in a high energy and fun atmosphere.

Leading our A grade squad will be Steven Bookluck. A force at the plate and on the mound, Bookie is ready to take the next step in leading our top team and has already demonstrated at training his desire and ability to make an impact with our players. He will be supported by Tom Dicker as assistant coach who has done a great job over the past years in the top job. We are thrilled to see Bookie step up into this coaching role and with Tom backing his development the 1’s will be a very exciting team to follow.

Our 2’s will once again be lead by David Slape and supported by Ryan Mitchell. The duo both bring great levels of energy and enthusiasm to both games and training.

These two, along with Bookie will also lead training sessions. Get used to high tempo, high impact training sessions that will see all players benefit from a number of different stations and drills throughout the year.

Our 3’s will compete in C1 this year and be lead by Phil Weingott. Ian Chesser will also support the squad.

The 2018 fixture is not yet available, but will link through to the Melbourne Winter Website when the fixture is released
